Valentine’s Day in Stockholm ?

In honour of Valentine’s Day rolling around and engulfing us all in love and candy sales, here are 5 ways to spend Valentine’s Day in Stockholm. Think of them as date ideas, things to do with friends, or ways to go out and have a great time?

1. Go to a cool museum

There are lots of interesting museums in Stockholm, you can pick and choose whatever matches your interest. My favourites so far have been Fotografiska and Moderna Museet.

2. Take a walk in the city??

Of course there’s Gamla Stan (the old part of the city) where you have gorgeous views and such. If you’re in the mood for a view, rooftop bars are a great idea. There are also guided tours that you can book that will reveal things about Stockholm from a perspective you hadn’t considered before.

3. Sit at a cute cafĂ©?☕?

There are so many cafĂ©s that this city is fika heaven. All sorts of cafĂ©s too—themed, classic, in a particular location—whatever you like! Some of the nice ones I’ve been to are Melqvist and Java Whiskers, while Älsklade traditioner, and Rost

4. Ice skating and hiking ? ⛾

Now at the moment there isn’t very much snow around here so while I do recommend ice skating if you have the opportunity, hiking is a great idea if you have nice weather on your hands and in the forecast.

5. Bonus: Look out of Stockholm?

I’m going a little off topic to give you guys a bonus tip: taking a trip out of Stockholm could be a super fun way to spend a day! Uppsala is close by, and I’ve spent a few years there so I can say that it’s definitely worth a visit. It’s reminiscent of a small town in a snow globe. I’ve heard that taking a trip to Romme for some skiing is also super fun!

Hopefully that gives you guys some ideas for how to spend Valentine’s weekend—or any nice day for that matter! And of course, if you’re at KI don’t forget to look at Medicisnska Föreningen’s events for Valentine’s day!

Have fun! ⭐

  1. Stockholm is such a beautiful city to celebrate Valentine’s Day in! A stroll alongside the water is enough to give you all the feels, am I right? And Gamla Stan, omg. I live in Uppsala myself so I do take the train to the big city from time to time. Hope you’ve had a lovely Valentine’s ?
