Highlights of SNNC 2025 in pictures

I loved being part of SNNC (the Students’ Nobel NightCap) in my first year in Stockholm (my experience at SNNC 2024) that I was part of it again in 2025 with an upgraded role as Creative Director. The Students’ Nobel NightCap is the afterparty continuation of the Nobel Banquet on the 10th of December that is entirely organized by students from different universities in Stockholm. It is attended by Nobel laureates, politicians, and other prominent people.

As creative director, together with the rest of the decor team we planned out and led the design of the venue according to this years secrete theme which was: Discoveries. Despite it being a lot of work from April all the way till mid-December, it was again a wonderful experience. Worth every minute of my time and effort- mostly because I got to work with a great group of people that I would never have met otherwise!

Here’s how SNNC made April through December special for me.

Meeting the team in April over a sittning

This was the very start of everything, when we first met the team that we were going to work with till December. And I was so lucky to be part of the best team at SNNC, the decor team.

Aside from our weekly meetings, we also met up throughout the week to spend time together, go out, or make dinner together.

Paid-for cruise to Helsinki with the team

Since some of every teams budget can be spent on a social event, our team decided there was no better way to spend that money than to go on a cruise to Helsinki the weekend before construction week began. It was plenty of fun and definitely brought the whole team closer together.

Working with KOSTA: a team of Swiss construction workers!

KOSTA is a group of Swiss construction experts that work at the Swiss Polybal. (Their version of SNNC that takes place at the end of November.) They come to help us out every year, so it was fun to get to see them again. They’re a lovely group of people, that help bring so many different creations to life!…so many things we couldn’t imagine would be possible to build, they make it happen.

All the fun that comes with construction week (and free meals)

Not only is building things all day very fun, especially when in good company, it is also cost effective. If you worked all day you could get breakfast, lunch, and dinner for free…(or as a payment for your hard work.)

Here’s a glimpse into all we were doing and building throughout construction week. A lot of papermachie-ing, painting, building, and having fun.

From the 28th-10th of December, when construction week took place, I was at the venue with the team doing arts and crafts all day, from 8am – 11pm…or later. It’s not often that you have a purpose and the resources to craft massive flowers, crystals, robots, an armillary, 3D dinosaurs…but with SNNC it becomes your job to craft all of these things and more!

The Big Night

And finally, the night of the party approached. All the decor elements were moved to their rooms, final touches were being made, and the venue was cleaned. It meant work from 9am to 7am for the decor team…yeah…it was quite a long shift.

We spent most of the big night helping out behind the scenes, in the kitchen, cleaning glasses. Was it still fun- surprisingly yes, we were working together as a team, singing to the music blasting from one of the main dancefloors.

Towards the end of the party we also got to enjoy ourselves a little. We seized the opportunity of taking over the dancefloor.

The thank you party

There’s always leftovers after the big night of the party and to make sure it doesn’t go to waste, we eat the leftover food and drink the beverages at the thank you party. It’s a night where we all get to relax and enjoy ourselves after almost a years worth of work.

End of SNNC 2025, time to get ready for SNNC 2026!

Will I be part of SNNC a third time? In all honesty…I am tempted. All the photos speak for themselves. SNNC just happens to be, in my opinion, one of the coolest, most unique and fullfilling student organizations you can be part of. All the effort you put into the project is repaid by the people you meet (and the fun that comes with getting to be creative!)

Julia - Biomedicine (BSc)

Hi, I’m Julia from Slovenia! I’m excited to share my experience as a KI student. When I first learned about the Bachelor's Programme in Biomedicine at KI, the university’s prestige and its academic and research excellence, I made it my goal to get in. Now that I’m a KI student, my new goal is to make the absolute most of everything KI and Stockholm have to offer — from education to student life. I hope to maintain a “say-yes-to-everything” mindset, learn Swedish as soon as possible, hunt for internships, meet new people, and have fun.
